Current responsibility
Mike is a principal with the St. Louis office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 1985.
Experience
Mike's area of expertise is in the design and funding of qualified and nonqualified retirement programs. His defined benefit experience includes assisting clients with actuarial valuations for both funding and accounting requirements, plan design, and nondiscrimination testing.
Mike also has significant experience in the valuation of postretirement medical liabilities under FAS 106, SOP 92-6 and GASB 45. His clients include private, not-for-profit, and governmental employers. Mike also has significant experience with Taft-Hartley plans, including issues involving withdrawal liability and designing funding plans required under the Pension Protection Act of 2006.

Presentations and publications
Mike has spoken before the Enrolled Actuaries meeting on matters of pension funding and at Milliman's annual firmwide training sessions. He serves on the editorial committee of Milliman's primary employee benefits newsletter, Perspectives.
