Michael Price is a Senior Managing Director of the firm’s corporate advisory business.
Prior to Evercore, Mr. Price spent eleven years at Lazard where he was a Managing Director and founded and led the firm’s global Telecom and Technology Group. In 1998, he co-founded FirstMark Communications Europe, a 60 city IP backbone across Europe with access businesses in Spain and France.
Mr. Price has advised on a number of the largest transactions in the telecom industry, including SBC’s acquisition of AT&T, Cingular’s acquisition of AT&T Wireless, SBC’s acquisition of Pactel, McCaw Cellular’s sale to AT&T and the breakup of US West. Mr. Price also created Lazard Technology Partners, a venture capital group, and was responsible for some of Lazard’s most successful investments, including Amdocs, a leveraged recapitalization led by Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe which has resulted in over $2 billion of gain for WCAS, on approximately $200 million of investment.
Mr. Price serves on the Board of Overseers of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania and the board of the Rockefeller University Council. He previously sat on the boards of SpectraSite, Amdocs and People PC. Mr. Price received a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. |
