Michael J. Levitt is the Chairman of Stone Tower Capital LLC. Stone Tower is a private investment firm with in excess of $4 billion of assets under management. Prior to founding Stone Tower, Mr. Levitt was a Partner in the private equity investment firm Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst. Before pursuing a career in the investment business, he served as an Investment Banker with both Morgan Stanley and Smith Barney.
Mr. Levitt has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York for the past ten years. Mr. Levitt served as Chairman of the Board from 1996 through 2000. In addition, Mr. Levitt served on the Board of the Directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Hope and Heroes Children’s Cancer Fund, and was a member of the Board of the New York Police & Fire Widow’s & Children’s Benefit Fund, Inc.
Mr. Levitt received his undergraduate and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Michigan. He serves on the University of Michigan Ross School of Business Visiting Committee and on the University of Michigan Endowment Investment Committee. |
