Mike is a partner and is chair of the financial restructuring practice group. His practice focuses primarily on single lender and syndicated commercial financing transactions, both in the structuring and documenting of new transactions and in the workout and recovery of non-performing credit facilities. He has extensive Chapter 11 bankruptcy experience, representing primarily lenders, equipment lessors, and creditors' committees. Mike is certified as a Business Bankruptcy Specialist by American Board of Certification and is certified as a Specialist in Bankruptcy Law by the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization.

Served as counsel to the agent for a syndicate of lenders in the North Carolina Chapter 11 bankruptcy case of a multi-store retail chain.
Served as counsel to agent for a syndicate of lenders in the Delaware Chapter 11 bankruptcy case of a world wide manufacturer of electronic components.
Served as counsel to a fleet lessor of a rolling stock in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy case of nationwide common carriers in Atlanta, Salt Lake City and Kansas City.
Served as special counsel to the steering committee for a syndicate of lenders to a nationwide service company in the restructure and refinance of its revolving credit facility.
Served as counsel to the official committee of unsecured creditors in the North Carolina Chapter 11 bankruptcy case of an upholstery manufacturer, and in the Mississippi Chapter 11 bankruptcy case of a furniture manufacturer.
Served as counsel for an owner participant in leveraged aircraft lease transaction in Chapter 11 cases in New York of two major airlines.
Served as counsel for rolling stock lessor in Chapter 11 case of a national bakery in Kansas.
