As a Managing Director at Stone Partners, Michael Taggart is responsible for the development and delivery of healthcare and group insurance consulting services to employers. These include a wide range of consulting, actuarial and management services directed at employee benefit plans, and healthcare provider organizations. Prior to joining Stone Partners, Mr. Taggart was a co-founder and President of Synhrgy HR Technologies, Inc., a national HR technology and outsourcing firm. At Synhrgy, he led the business development and health & group benefits practice, in addition to working with clients and service partners on the design and implementation of tailored HR business process outsourcing solutions. Prior to Synhrgy, Mr. Taggart was the Executive Director of MethodistCare, the HMO subsidiary of the Methodist Health Care System of Houston. Previously, Mr. Taggart was a Principal and Healthcare Practice Leader for the Southwest Region of Mercer Consulting. He has over 20 years of experience as an actuary and consultant. Mr. Taggart is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Over the years, his employer clients have included Temple Inland, Southwest Airlines, East Texas Regional Medical System, Kerr-McGee Corporation, Bell Helicopter and Shell Oil Company.
