Michael E. McCabe, Jr.'s practice encompasses all areas of intellectual property law, with a particular focus on patent litigation and related client counseling. He has served as counsel for both domestic and foreign clients involved in patent and other intellectual property disputes before the United States Federal District Courts and the International Trade Commission. He also has experience in both ex parte and inter partes trademark proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and has lectured and written articles on issues relating to intellectual property litigation. He is a member of the firm's Litigation Management Team and serves as Chairman of the firm's Risk Management Committee.
Mr. McCabe received his Law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1992 and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland in 1985.
Mr. McCabe is involved in numerous civic and professional association activities, including the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association (Chairman, Membership Committee,1997-98), the Federal Circuit Bar Association, The Giles S. Rich American Inn of Court, the ABA Section of the Litigation Committee on Ethics & Professionalism, and Co-Chair (2007), the IPO Discovery Committee - Taking Discovery in Europe Subcommittee.
Mr. McCabe is admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth, District of Columbia, and Federal Circuits, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, District of Columbia, Eastern District of Wisconsin, and Western District of Michigan, and the State Bar of Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. |
