Michael Connelly has served as president and CEO, Catholic Healthcare Partners, since 1995. His expertise in strategic partnerships, governance, finance, physician relations and evolving cultures has been instrumental in growing the system.
Prior to joining CHP, Mr. Connelly was regional executive/CEO, Daughters of Charity National Health System-West, Los Altos Hills, Calif. He also served first as COO and then as president and CEO of St. Joseph Hospital and Health Care Center, Chicago, a 495-bed teaching hospital in the Daughters’ East Central Region. Prior to that, he practiced law with the Chicago firm of Gardner, Carton and Douglas in its major healthcare practice and served in progressively more demanding roles in medical/legal affairs and ambulatory services at St. Joseph’s. His healthcare career began in 1976.
Mr. Connelly earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, cum laude, and a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He earned his J.D. degree from DePaul University College of Law.
Mr. Connelly currently serves on the boards of trustees of Premier, Inc.; the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati; and the Catholic Medical Mission Board. He has also served on the boards of St. Joseph Health System in Orange, Calif. and Catholic Healthcare West and served as board chair of The Catholic Health Association in 1999 – 2000. Mr. Connelly has earned numerous professional and academic awards and serves parish and community organizations, including the mentor program for Catholic Inner City Schools Education and United Way - Greater Cincinnati. |
