Michael Hobbs is President of KeyBank's Rocky Mountain Region which comprises the Colorado Idaho and Utah Districts. In this role Michael oversees Retail Banking Business Banking Commercial Banking Key Investment Services® and Key Private Bank which provides banking investing and trust services to affluent individuals. He has responsibility for the region's revenue expense management profit and credit quality as well as growing the client base in all franchise businesses.
A unit of KeyCorp KeyBank N.A. has a network of 116 KeyCenters and 159 ATMs in the Rocky Mountain Region. The region's 1 500 employees work every day to provide KeyBank's clients in Colorado Idaho and Utah with exceptional customer service and value-added ideas. KeyBank's employees are also community leaders in the Rocky Mountain Region serving as volunteers to hundreds of nonprofit and civic organizations. In 2006 KeyBank donated over $1 million to organizations serving the communities where its employees live and work.
Prior to becoming Regional Resident in 2006 Michael was President for KeyBank's Colorado District overseeing Retail Banking Business Banking and Commercial Banking for the District as well as Key Private Bank. He also has served as Executive Vice President of Commercial Banking for the Rocky Mountain and Southwest Regions. Michael has held a variety of senior level positions in KeyCorp's Commercial Banking group as well as its investment banking division in Seattle Washington and Denver Colorado.
In the investment banking role Michael was responsible for originating new investment banking business opportunities and implementing strategic initiatives. Michael sponsored and assisted with the completion of numerous transactions and advisory assignments in a wide variety of industries including energy healthcare consumer products specialty manufacturing telecom and technology related businesses. These transactions involved public and private offerings of debt and equity securities mergers & acquisitions and various financial advisory assignments.
Michael began his career at NationsBank where he specialized in the energy sector and co-founded the bank's corporate healthcare practice.
Michael earned a bachelor's degree in Marketing from Texas Christian University in 1984 and received a Masters of Business Administration with honors in Finance from Texas Christian University in 1992. He is active in a number of charitable and civic endeavors. Michael currently sits on the boards of the non-profit organizations Colorado I Have A Dream Foundation and Junior Achievement. He also serves on the board of the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce. |
