During his tenure as a Commissioner of the Tennessee Regulatory Authority, Mr. Malone presided over many telecommunications arbitrations and presented testimony before Congress on telecommunications issues. In addition to telecommunications providers and utilities, he provides counsel to builders, start-up companies, retail merchants, religious organizations, professional athletes, non-profits and others on a host of legal matters. Among other matters, he has successfully litigated on behalf of a regional financial institution, a global wireless communications company, the nation's largest three-service public utility, an automotive finance company and a coalition of Tennessee telephone cooperatives. Prior to his service as Deputy Legal Counsel to the Governor, Mr. Malone practiced law in Knoxville, Tennessee, concentrating primarily in commercial litigation and commercial lending.
