Dr. Mehmet Toner is a Professor of Bioengineering at the Harvard Medical School and MGH and the Director of the Microsystems Bioengineering Laboratory at MGH. He is internationally recognized in the applications of cell-based microsystems technology in biology and medicine and in tissue engineering and cryopreservation. He has published more than 150 scientific papers in engineering, biological, and clinical journals. Dr. Toner was the recipient of the YC Fung Young Faculty Award in Bioengineering, of the Taplin Faculty Fellow Award of Harvard and MIT, and of a fellowship at the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering. Dr. Toner is a co-inventor of the company's core technologies, for which two patents have already been issued and a third is pending through MGH and MIT. He received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, an M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and a Ph.D. in Medical Engineering from the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. |
