Beginning her career in public accounting, real estate, and finance in 1982, Ms. Grove has been instrumental in reorganizing and decentralizing the firm's accounting functions and has implemented valuable training programs, internal controls, standardized procedures, and software packages. Her efforts have reduced costs, improved efficiency, and reduced turnover.Ms. Grove has complete financial responsibility for MB Real Estate's 15 million square foot management portfolio. Supervising a staff of 12, Ms. Grove oversees all GAAP-based financial reporting, auditing, financing, and accounts payable/receivable activity. She is also the direct liaison between the property management team, the accounting department, and building owners such as General Electric, TIAA-CREF, Prudential Real Estate Investments, and the City of Chicago.Since joining the firm, Ms. Grove has been a key player in the refinancing and sale of $1.54 billion in real estate assets, including the sale of Chicago's 181 West Madison twice in nine months. She has expertise in large transaction due diligence, loan documentation, loan servicing, and banking. She recently took on the role of developer as she became the MB Real Estate liaison on a joint venture with the Target Group and Granite Asset Management to develop The Arches Of Oakwood Shores development at 39th and Ellis in Chicago.In addition, she recognized the need for new systems and spearheaded three major systems conversions, created a standard accounting procedures manual for all MB Real Estate-managed buildings, and introduced the accounting team to several full-service software packages including Kardin, MRI, and Yardi.Ms. Grove is involved in all key credit reviews, deal analyses, and internal/external/tenant audits. She also utilizes her keen knowledge of the insurance industry to coordinate negotiations regarding commercial insurance premiums. Prior to joining MB Real Estate, Ms. Grove was the CFO for Winston Management Corporation as well as held various financial positions with significant firms as Equity Office, Sanwa, Heller Financial, and Wolf & Company. Ms. Grove holds a CPA and received her MBA with a BS in Accounting from Southern Illinois University. She belongs to the American Institute of CPAs and the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants. She holds her real estate license in the State of Illinois. |
