Matthew Shaw joined ACE as Managing Director of ACE Tempest Re Europe in August 2002. Based in London he is responsible for the overall management of ACE Tempest Re's operations in the UK and Europe, reporting to Gary Schmalzriedt, President and Chief Executive Officer of ACE European Group and Jacques Bonneau, President and Chief Executive Officer of ACE Tempest Re Group. In the insurance industry for more than 25 years, Mr. Shaw started his career at Lloyds in 1982 working in Aviation and Non Marine lines, underwriting both direct and reinsurance business. Mr. Shaw joined ACE from St Paul, where he served as a director of the board of the Managing Agent and Active Underwriter for syndicate 340. He has served as a member the Lloyds Aviation Underwriters Association and ABI committees and was also a board director of Gravett and Tilling syndicate management and from 1987 a director of St Paul at Lloyds. |
