Prior to joining Huron in 2007 Matt's focus was in public accounting principally concentrated in the communications and technology industries including financial statement audits Securities and Exchange Commission reporting Sarbanes-Oxley compliance initial public offerings merger due diligence secondary and follow-on offerings system implementations and business process reengineering.

Previously Matt was an audit partner for five years at KPMG and prior to that he was with Arthur Andersen.
Representative examples of Matt's engagement and transaction experience include:
Audited numerous SEC registrants in the telecom software internet and technology industries; most recently served as an audit partner on a $40 B telecom company.
Implemented the audit requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX 404) for a Fortune 100 company.
Led the initial phases of a project to assist a large SEC registrant execute its management assessment of the effectiveness of its internal controls pursuant to SOX 404.
Provided fact witness deposition in a case regarding accounting fraud at a consulting client.
Provided fact witness deposition in an intellectual property case at an audit client.
Registered with the SEC more than a dozen IPOs and follow-on offerings.
Led the audit team on the spin-out of a substantial wireless subsidiary its acquisition of three companies and subsequent sale to a foreign SEC registrant.
Performed merger due diligence on telecom investments ranging from $10 M to over $30 B.
Assisted with private and public placements of convertible debt and preferred securities which included evaluation of derivative features.
Audited the accounting for numerous mergers and acquisitions as well as subsequent evaluation of going concern and valuation of intangible and fixed assets.
Performed business process reengineering at several former Bell telephone companies.
Consulted with a local telephone company and a natural gas distribution utility on various rate-making cost allocation and other regulatory matters.
