Matthew D. Hunter is a Director focused on buyout opportunities in Australia. He is based in Sydney.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Hunter spent 12 years in investment banking, most recently with Merrill Lynch in Australia, where he was head of financial sponsor coverage. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Hunter held positions with JPMorgan in Australia and the UK, and Goldman Sachs in Australia. During his investment banking career, Mr. Hunter advised clients across a broad range of industries, but principally in the consumer & industrial and financial services sectors.
Mr. Hunter is an Australian national and graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1994 with a degree in commerce (First Class Honors in finance).
