Matt represents various individuals and entities in all aspects of the entertainment industry, specializing in film and television production and distribution, theater law, literary publishing, digital music licensing and exploitation, and financing for film, television and theater. He has served as production counsel for feature motion pictures, television films and television series, including documentary and reality television programming. Representative production work includes acquisition of rights, financing, production and talent deals, as well as all aspects of distribution. He represents producers and individual talent in the disposition of literary and other creative works for exploitation in film, television, theater, and merchandising and represents individual artists in all areas, including film, television, theater, literary publishing, music and employment agreements.
Matt received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law. He was admitted to the Bars of New York and New Jersey in 1993. Matt is a member of the New York Bar Association and its Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Division, and the Stellar Network. He is the author of "Lights, Camera - Wait, what's that in the background?" on the use of intellectual property in film.
