Matt Murphy is a Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, he joined in 1999. His focus areas of investment include networking, semiconductors, and security. Matt is either a Director or works closely with the management teams of IPUnity, Kodiak Networks, RGB Networks, Stoke, Xsigo, eASIC, Iolon, Scintera, Quorum Systems, Endforce, Oakley Networks, and Devicescape. Previously he worked with and was a board observer at Google (from initial investment to IPO), Kymata (acquired by Alcatel), and Sigma Systems (acquired by Liberate).
Prior to KPCB, Matt led product management at NetBoost (a network processor company) from second round of financing through and briefly after acquisition by Intel in 1999. Before NetBoost, Matt worked at Sun Microsystems where he led business development for the Network Systems Group and was a Product Line Manager for networking platforms.
Matt also worked in consulting for a number of years, including at Booz, Allen, & Hamilton where he focused on corporate strategy and at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) where he led computer systems integration projects.
Matt holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. |
