Matt Durkin is the Executive Vice President of Sales of Pyxis Mobile, responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s sales functions, including developing and executing a strategic sales revenue and profit plan that will build, mentor, and manage a global sales organization. Mr. Durkin joins Pyxis Mobile from Virtual Tape Library software company Neartek Software, where he was President and CEO. Mr. Durkin was instrumental in the re-engineering and the public release of a 3rd generation product, resulting in the sale of Neartek’s technology to EMC Corporation in September of 2006. Prior to Neartek Software, Mr. Durkin ran Terascape Software, a leading provider of storage performance software, specializing in performance management for Oracle database environments. During his tenure with Terascape, Mr. Durkin managed key relationships that enabled him to negotiate a successful sale of the company to EMC Corporation. Mr. Durkin was also the Director of Worldwide Sales for CLARiiON a business unit of Data General Corporation. He grew sales annually from 10 Million Dollars to over 750 Million Dollars. Mr. Durkin’s team established relationships with major OEM partners, including Dell Computer, Hewlett-Packard, Silicon Graphics, Storage Technology and Sequent Computer. Mr. Durkin was the 17th employee hired by EMC Corporation where he was responsible for various sales and marketing activities. Mr. Durkin earned his BA in Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. |
