Mathew Blanchard is vice president and general manager of board sales for Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation. Based in West Point, Virginia, he assumed his current position in May 2000. Most recently, Blanchard served as vice president of Supply Chain Operations for the former St. Laurent Paperboard Inc. Blanchard developed and implemented a companywide supply chain management strategy for procurement, transportation/logistics and operations planning. He served as both vice president and director of Operations Planning for several St. Laurent facilities. He has additionally held a variety of positions with Avenor Inc. Blanchard received a bachelor’s degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
