Experience Mary Beckey is an attorney in Faegre & Benson’s corporate practice and serves as the firm’s due diligence coordinating counsel for business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and securities offerings. In that role, she works closely with buyers, sellers, investment bankers, lenders and others involved in complex transactions to streamline the due diligence process and ensure thorough investigation, easy and secure access to pertinent information, compliance with federal regulations and timely, attentive responses to clients’ questions and needs. She works with clients ranging from small, privately held businesses to large, multinational public corporations, and she regularly speaks to industry audiences on the topic of due diligence. Utilizing Faegre & Benson’s nationally recognized technology resources, Mary serves as the key liaison between clients and the firm’s dedicated Client Technology Services department to plan and implement strategies for cost-effective and secure due diligence processing. When it is advantageous to the client, Mary works with the Client Technology Services group to develop virtual data rooms that increase efficiency, accuracy and productivity while upholding the highest standards of data security and confidentiality, operational excellence and industry best practices. Mary draws from her work as a law clerk with MoneyGram International, where she obtained extensive experience working with in-house counsel and investment bankers to organize due diligence for major acquisition transactions. Prior to entering law school, Mary worked in international banking operations at U.S. Bancorp, where she issued and negotiated import letters of credit. She also has significant experience with corporate operations and international tax.
