Mary Ellen Condon helps develop SRA's emerging offerings to support the company's three business sectors: Civil; Defense; and Command and Control, Communications and Intelligence (C3I). As a horizontal organization in SRA, the Business Solutions and Offerings (BSO) group currently focuses on five areas enterprise systems management, knowledge management and portals, business intelligence, wireless integration services, and enterprise architecture and works across the company to provide leadership for innovative methodologies and capabilities that help the company meet evolving client needs. BSO supports SRA in developing and winning new business, as well as in project execution.
Prior to this position, Condon served as Deputy Director of the SRA Orion Center for Homeland Security, leading the development of business solutions to improve clients' personal, cyber, and physical safety. She also provided leadership of homeland security initiatives including SRA’s role in the Accenture-led Smart Border Alliance selected by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to design and implement the U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology (US-VISIT) program and federal law enforcement business solutions. In addition, Condon established SRA's privacy protection program.
She previously led SRA's information assurance (IA) practice, where she focused on enabling the company's clients to effectively navigate the challenges of a global world where electronic tools are an essential component of business and government. She is active in a variety of industry and government forums, including the Federated Electronic Commerce Coalition's Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Working Group and the Industry Advisory Council's (IAC's) Enterprise Architecture Special Interest Group (SIG). In 2005 and 2006, Condon was elected as chair of IAC's Security and Privacy SIG. She also serves as vice chairwoman at large for IAC.
Prior to joining SRA in December 1999, Condon served as the director of information management and security for the Department of Justice, where she was responsible for assessing the department's major IT programs and acquisition strategies, managing the Year 2000 readiness effort, and leading the computer security program. She has also held senior-level IT positions in other federal organizations such as the Department of Agriculture, Immigration and Naturalization Service, and the Department of Energy.
Condon is a founding member of the Chief Information Officer's Council and its Security Committee, and the Information Technology Resources Board, where she served as the chairperson. Federal Computer Week selected Condon to the Federal 100 in 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, and 2006. She has a long association with IAC and the Women in Technology organization and is currently engaged in its Mentor Program. In 2006, Condon was elected to the Board of the Integrated Justice Information Systems Institute.
