2002 Barnett Bank/NationsBank
Mary A. Jeffrey joined The South Financial Group in June 2002 and serves as Executive Vice President, Corporate Director of Human Resources. Her responsibilities include compensation, benefits, employee relations, talent development, payroll, and coordination of all human resources activities for the company.
Ms. Jeffrey began her banking career in 1979 with Barnett Bank and, starting in 1994, served as a Regional Human Resources Manager for Barnett Bank and NationsBank (following its acquisition of Barnett Bank). Prior to joining The South Financial Group, Ms. Jeffrey was Regional Human Resources Manager for Huntington National Bank, Inc.
Ms. Jeffrey graduated from The University of Central Florida. She currently serves on the Women’s Leadership Council for United Way, the South Carolina Bankers Association Human Resources Committee, and the Greenville Little Theatre community board.
