Mr. Wendel has extensive trial experience in complex tort defense in both state and federal court, having practiced principally in this area since 1979. Mr. Wendel’s expertise includes the defense of claims for personal injuries arising from product liability cases and complex construction site accident cases. Mr. Wendel has acted as the national product liability case coordinator for national automotive lift manufacturer, elevator manufacturer and national commercial kitchen equipment manufacturer, overseeing the work of fifty law firms throughout the United States. He has also acted as a consultant to several manufacturing companies on product liability issues in cases throughout the country. In addition, Mr. Wendel has acted as General Counsel for a national over-the-counter appetite suppressant distributor with approximately 1500 product liability suits nationwide. In this capacity, he acted as liaison between the company, its national and local counsel and insurers. Mr. Wendel has a thorough knowledge of issues facing insurers, having previously been employed by Continental Insurance Company and the Insurance Company of North America, where he was responsible for general liability claims including medical malpractice and product liability. Mr. Wendel, a member of the bars of New York and New Jersey, is admitted to the United States Supreme Court; Circuit Court of Appeals, Second and Third Circuits; U.S. District Courts for District of New Jersey and Eastern and Southern Districts of New York; U.S. Tax Court; and U.S. Court of Claims.
