Martin is Vice Chairman of Weingarten Realty Investors. He is responsible for developing and implementing the Company's growth strategy including its acquisition and new development programs.
He joined WRI in 1968 and worked in numerous positions including Senior Vice President and Executive Vice President. Martin was appointed President in 1992 and Vice Chairman 1997.
Prior to joining the Company, he was employed by NASA working for the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston, Texas. He also served a brief time with J. Weingarten, Inc., the supermarket chain.
Martin attended Columbia University in New York City where he received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees.
He is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Urban Land Institute. |
