Martin W. Sumner is a Vice President focused on U.S. buyout opportunities in the automotive, transportation and logistics sectors. He is based in Washington, DC.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Sumner was an Associate at Thayer Capital Partners, where he focused on buyouts and growth equity investments. Prior to that, Mr. Sumner served as an Associate with Mercer Management Consulting, where he consulted on various strategic and operational issues for several Fortune 1000 companies.
Mr. Sumner received his M.B.A. from Stanford University, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. He received a B.S. in economics, magna cum laude, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Sumner currently serves on the Board of Directors of AxleTech International Holdings, Inc. |
