Mr. Stefanelli has over 17 years experience in pathology and diagnostic services, having worked previously at Asterand, plc, AmeriPath, Inc, and DIANON Systems, Inc. Mr. Stefanelli comes to Aurora from Asterand where he was President and Chief Operating Officer. Asterand is a leading provider in human tissue-based research for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. While at AmeriPath he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and led a team of over 400 scientists and pathologists at more than 200 locations. He was also responsible for a sales and managed care staff of over 100. Prior to AmeriPath, Mr. Stefanelli spent 13 years with DIANON Systems, Inc. After joining DIANON in 1989 as a sales representative, Mr. Stefanelli rose through the ranks while serving in a series of positions of increasing responsibility including Senior Vice President, Operations; and, ultimately Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Business Development. Mr. Stefanelli holds a BS degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and served on active duty as a U.S. Army captain. |
