Martin J. Sturgeon joined AVANIR Pharmaceuticals in February 2007 as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer and has been responsible for overseeing all accounting practices and policies for the organization. In July of 2007 Mr. Sturgeon assumed the role of Interim Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Compliance Officer.
Mr. Sturgeon has over 25 years experience in senior financial positions with companies such as Toshiba America Information Systems, Schlumberger Ltd, Western Digital, Corinthian Colleges, and Deloitte. Prior to joining AVANIR, Mr. Sturgeon spent three years with the financial consultancy firm of DLC, Inc. in which he fulfilled the role of Chief Financial Officer, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller for several client firms.
Mr. Sturgeon holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of San Diego and an M.B.A. in Finance from IESE, a European M.B.A. program sponsored by Harvard University. Additionally, Mr. Sturgeon is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in California. |
