As Vice President of Operating Properties, Mr. Lastner directs the growing property management and asset management divisions of Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse (SBER). He currently supervises the management of 18 SBER commercial projects throughout the east coast of the United States including more than 1.7 million square feet of retail, restaurant and office space. Under Mr. Lastner's direction, the Property Management and Asset Management divisions of the company are projected to expand to more than 4 million square feet of managed mixed-use space that span urban areas from Providence, Rhode Island to Durham, North Carolina by 2008. With nearly 25 years in the real estate development and management business, Mr. Lastner has managed some of the country's most acclaimed commercial projects. He developed and directed a rejuvenating renovation plan for Baltimore's Harborplace and The Gallery adding reputation retailers and category leading restaurants, increasing the mixed-use project's sales from $450 per square foot to $700 per square foot. Prior to his tenure at Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse, Mr. Lastner worked for MMI Realty Services, Inc., an internationally recognized real estate company in Honolulu, Hawaii. During his ten years in Hawaii, he was responsible for managing 2 million square feet of mixed-use space. He was also the company's principal broker for all of its commercial properties. Mr. Lastner was recognized for increasing sales among MMI's properties from $250 per square foot to more than $500 per square foot. He was also widely acknowledged for increasing the company's cash flow from $5 million to $9 million during his service to MMI. Mr. Lastner has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Towson State University. He is a CPA and an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
