Dr. Martin Schmidt is a Professor in the MIT Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and the Director of the MIT Microsystems Technology Laboratory (MTL). He is an internationally recognized leader in microsystems engineering in general, and its applications in biology in particular. He has organized and chaired many international meetings in the general area of micro-sensors and actuators, microtonal analysis systems, and bio-microelectromechanical systems. Dr. Schmidt has extensively published his technological developments in prestigious journals including the Journal of Microelectromechanical Systems, the Journal of Biomechanical Engineering, and the Biophysical Journal. He is a co-inventor of the Company's core technology, for which patents have been filed through MIT and MGH. Dr. Schmidt received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from MIT. |
