Marshall G. Jones, Ph.D. joined the Ellis Hospital Board of Trustees in June of 2005.
Dr. Jones is an internationally-recognized scholar, researcher and mechanical engineer who has worked for the General Electric Global Research Center since 1974. He has received 46 U.S. patents, 31 foreign patents, authored or co-authored more than 40 publications and presented numerous talks at national and global technical conferences. Dr. Jones is also an adjunct professor of Engineering and Mathematics at the Schenectady County Community College since 1975.
Dr. Jones received an associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Mohawk Valley Community College, Utica, NY, a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a master's degree and doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts .
Dr. Jones is a Board member and long time volunteer for the Capital District Chapter of the New York Association for the Learning Disabled, President of 100 Black Men of Albany, Inc., and a member of the Friendship Baptist
Church, Schenectady, NY. He is the subject of a self-published children's book, Never Give Up, The Marshall Jones Story. The book, published in 1999, was written to encourage youth, especially those who are underrepresented, to stay focused on their dreams no matter how tough it gets. |
