Marshall Banker Biography :

Dr. Marshall D. Banker is President of the Customer Solutions Operating Group of BAE Systems. BAE Systems Customer Solutions is headquartered in Rosslyn, Virginia, and employs more than 13,000 people. Customer Solutions provides the full-spectrum of support and service solutions for current and future defense, intelligence, and civilian systems, driven by its customers’ needs to ensure their operational requirements are supported and maintained.

Dr. Banker began his career in 1966 at Bell Telephone Laboratories, where he was a member of the technical staff. In 1972, he joined Hughes Aircraft Company where he became Technical Director, Israeli Air Defense System, a major program consisting of radar, communications, display and data processing equipment with associated software/firmware. Marshall also held various leadership positions in the areas of communications and surveillance systems. From 1981 to 1991, he was with Loral Electronics Systems in New York, where he started as an Engineering director and ultimately became Vice President, Programs, responsible for development programs.

In 1991, Marshall joined Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) eventually becoming president of its Systems and Technology Products Group. In 1994, he took the position of Vice President, Advanced Programs, with Lockheed Martin Federal Systems in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He was responsible for business diversification including exploring and qualifying new markets and opportunities, formulating business cases and developing penetration strategy; winning opportunities, and building an organization to successfully execute new business. In January 1997, he was named Vice President, Special Programs with that organization, serving as the business area manager with responsibility for a large group of command, control, and communications and Global Navigation programs. Within the same year, he became the Executive Vice President of Lockheed Martin Management & Data Systems, headquartered in Pennsylvania.

Most recently, Marshall was President of the Information Systems Sector of BAE Systems North America where he led more than 5,000 employees in providing information technology solutions to both government and commercial customers.

Marshall received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1971, his Master's degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University in 1967 and his bachelors in electrical engineering from Cornell University in 1966.

Marshall is a member of the Board of Directors of the Government Electronics & Information Technology Association (GEIA). He is on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Symphony and also is a board member for the California Center for the Arts. He is a member of IEEE, ETA KAPPA NU and TAU BETA PI Engineering honorary societies.
