Mark Wolfgang (CISSP) is a Principal Security Consultant for Special Ops Security, with over 14 years of experience in a wide range of positions to include training, management, system and network administration, and has spent the last 6 years in the role of penetration tester. Prior to Special Ops Security, Mark has become a noted expert within the U.S. Department of Energy Information Security community, conducting network security audits on some of the nation's most sensitive networks. He is a contributing author to the critically acclaimed Jay Beale guide Penetration Tester's Open Source Toolkit and How to Cheat at Securing a Wireless Network. Other publications include Exploiting Cisco Routers (Securityfocus, September 2003) and Host Discovery with NMAP (Securityfocus, November 2002). Mark has presented at several information security industry conferences as well as private Department of Energy Cyber Security briefings (in 2003 and 2005). He has directly briefed high level government officials regarding network security vulnerabilities on the nation's critical infrastructure on several occasions and has published a widely-used internal handbook for the Department of Energy, 21 Steps to Improve Cyber Security of SCADA Networks. Previously, Mark was an instructor at Red Hat and for several years in the U.S. Navy. He has earned the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP 100350) designation and is a current Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE). Mark has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Saint Leo University, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration degree from the same institution. He holds an active Department of Energy Q [TOP SECRET] clearance and has held a NATO SECRET clearance. |
