Mark Tague graduated from California State University at Fullerton with a BS degree in accounting, followed by the attainment of a CPA accreditation. Mark then joined a "big eight" accounting firm in Los Angeles. In 1984, Mark co-founded Epicor (formerly Platinum Software Corporation) with four other executives.
In 1985, Mark created Altec as the authorized business forms division of Epicor. Under his direction, this start up subsidiary eventually would be the "financial fuel" for Platinum to build the strongest product in the marketplace.
Mark's influence was evident in all aspects of engineering a successful software company: from product development to packaging and distribution, from managing the financial operations to building a strong VAR channel. Mark's leadership, entrepreneurial style, and keen financial ability were the right combination to expand Platinum to over 650 employees with satellite offices around the world. In 1992, Mark was instrumental in preparing and executing an initial and secondary public offering of Platinum Software Corporation (NASDAQ PSQL).
In 1994, Mark Tague and Mark Ford purchased Altec from Epicor. Since then, Altec has reached new heights with alliances in the accounting world, as well as in other industries. Today, Altec remains Epicor's authorized business forms supplier providing printing solutions and enjoys a close marketing relationship. |
