Mark Stein is the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at IAC. Promoted in April 2008, he is responsible for expanding IAC’s business through execution on a combination of acquisition, investment and strategic commercial transactions. He also focuses on cross-company business development and entry strategies for new markets.
Previously, Mr. Stein served as the Executive Vice President of Corporate and Business Development at IAC Search and Media where he was responsible for overseeing mergers and acquisitions activity and the partner distribution operations of Ask.com and IAC’s Consumer Applications and Portal group.
Mr. Stein also served as EVP for Corporate and Business Development for Ask Jeeves, Inc., and prior to that as EVP and General Counsel of Interactive Search Holdings (ISH). He played a central role in the growth of ISH from its inception through its evolution into a consolidated network of internet search and media properties worth in excess of $500 million upon sale of Ask, including management of legal affairs, acquisition, funding and business development activities. Since then he has been involved in a broad range of acquisitions and business development transactions with a total value in excess of US$6 billion. Mr. Stein was also an attorney with Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where he focused on advising technology, entertainment and media companies.
He currently sits on the boards of Medem and Health Central.
Mr. Stein graduated from the Benjamin Franklin Scholar Program at the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School, a B.A. from the College of Arts and Sciences and a triple major in Finance, Real Estate and American History. |
