Mark Olson begins his fourth season scouting the West region of the United States for the Falcons. Before joining the college scouting department, he served three years as a pro scout with the team. Olson originally joined the Falcons in 1998 as a scouting assistant. In his role as a pro scout, Olson was responsible for advance scouting of Falcons opponents, as well as evaluating players in the professional ranks, and assisting the club in its preparation for acquisitions through free agency or the waiver wire.
His past experience has included stints with the Washington Redskins, Minnesota Vikings, and Montreal of the Canadian Football League.
Olson graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a degree in journalism in 1996. He earned his masters degree in sports management from the University of Minnesota in 1997.
