Mark MacLennan is president of SVB Capital. In this role, MacLennan oversees the company's significant network of relationships with venture capitalists as well as its investment funds. He also manages growth among the banking and financial services designed for leading venture capital firms and other private equity firms worldwide. MacLennan is an executive officer of SVB Financial Group. MacLennan was previously head of Global Financial Services for SVB Financial Group, responsible for directing and building the company's global strategy and managing an international team responsible for global treasury solutions, foreign exchange, export and structured trade finance, trade services, international banking alliances, in-market business development, sales, and relationship building worldwide. In this role he also oversaw business and consulting services to U.K.-based, high-growth technology companies and private equity firms, through SVB Europe Advisors Limited, and cross-border consulting and business services related to technology business in India through SVB India Advisors Pvt. Ltd. Prior to joining SVB Financial Group, MacLennan was a managing director of the Private Equity Group at Century Capital Management, Inc. in Boston, where he managed a portfolio of private equity investments and led fundraising for the company's latest private equity fund. During his 21 years at BankBoston, MacLennan held a variety of management and leadership positions, including serving on the Board of Directors and Investment Committee of BancBoston Capital, one of the largest and most diversified of bank-oriented investors. During his tenure, MacLennan also had responsibility for the Global, Multinational and Specialized Lending businesses, which included managing the global High Technology lending area for several years. MacLennan serves on the Board of Directors of private company LoanCity.com, one of the nation's leading wholesale residential mortgage lenders.
