Dr. Mark W. Johns is a Principal Scientist in Exponent's Environmental Sciences practice. Dr. Johns has more than 22 years experience specializing in the fields of environmental investigation remediation and litigation support. He has extensive experience in the technical direction of large CERCLA and RCRA environmental studies. He has managed investigations feasibility studies and hazardous waste remediation projects at refineries petrochemical pharmaceutical chlor-alkali and mine sites located throughout the world.
Special areas of expertise include working with technical and scientific issues under a wide variety of international federal state and local regulatory processes and regulations; evaluation of DNAPL and LNAPL plumes associated with nearshore environments; development of chemical contamination profiles from knowledge of industrial processes; hydrogeology; and statistical evaluations of contaminant distributions. In addition he has served as an expert witness in environmentally related litigation and has testified on the impacts and distribution of chemicals in man-made and natural settings. Dr. Johns has a Ph.D. in Geological Oceanography from Texas A&M University and is a registered Professional Geologist/Hydrogeologist. |
