Mark Bezant is a managing director of LECG Ltd, based in the London office. He joined LECG in February 2006. Prior to this, Mark was a partner in the valuation team of Deloitte's corporate finance practice. Mark was also formerly the partner-in-charge of the UK economic and financial consulting practice of Arthur Andersen, which comprised its valuation, litigation support, economic consulting and business modeling groups.
Mark advises on all aspects of valuing businesses, companies, listed and unlisted securities, intellectual property, and intangible assets. He has advised clients in a variety of contexts: mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, regulatory compliance (including fairness opinions), financial reporting, tax planning, expert determination, and dispute resolution. He is a council member of the UK Society of Share and Business Valuers.
He has been appointed as an expert witness or independent expert on numerous occasions, including in matters before the UK High Court, the Patents Court, the Restrictive Practices Court, the Royal Court of Jersey, the Family Division, the Competition Appeal Tribunal and the Copyright Tribunal, as well as in private arbitrations, a mediation under the World Intellectual Property Organisation's jurisdiction and various matters before the European Court and Commission.
He has published and presented extensively, in particular on intellectual property matters, and is the author of 'The Use of Intellectual Property as Security for Debt Finance' published by the Intellectual Property Institute. He sits on the editorial board of Managing Intellectual Property magazine. |
