Mark Bailey has been the Director of Marketing of SpaceDev/Starsys since 1994. During his tenure, Starsys has grown from $1M to over $30M in annual revenues with a broad mechanical systems product base that includes a comprehensive group of technologies with customers in space, air, land, and sea applications.
Mr. Bailey studied Mechanical Engineering at CSU Long Beach and his career path has included opto-mechanical engineering on High Energy Laser (HEL) and space-based missile detection programs at TRW, as well as systems engineering and program management on electro-optical systems for Titan Corp. from 1982 through 1990. Mr. Bailey joined Schaeffer Magnetics, a world-recognized supplier of motor-based spaceflight mechanisms and became the director of business development, growing the company from $7M in annual revenues to over $14M over a period of 4 years.
Mr. Bailey is the father of 6 children and grandfather of 6 as well. He enjoys spending his spare time with his family. He continues to actively participate in leadership functions in his Church and the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Bailey is actively involved in community efforts and conducts numerous space/science presentations and demonstrations in local school districts as a part of SpaceDev’s educational outreach activities. |
