Mark has over 25 years of consulting and management experience in the legal corporate legal financial services commercial and financial printing and health care industries.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Huron Mark was a Senior Account Manager with Renew Data Corp where he directed relationships for the firm's Compliance Division. Before joining Renew he was a Senior Associate with Baker Robbins & Company where he consulted with AmLaw 50 law firms and Fortune 20 corporations on strategic technology planning assessment and alignment of technology organizations to enhance support of business initiatives and management of complex technology programs. Mark has also served as an interim CIO for AmLaw 20 law firms based in New York and Washington DC.
Representative examples of Mark's engagement experience include:
Managed an assessment of litigation compliance records management and discovery readiness for the Office of General Counsel at New York-based broker-dealer including evaluating electronic and physical document stores messaging platforms and archive systems document review and concept search tools electronic discovery and litigation support vendors and designing a comprehensive in-house litigation management environment.
Directed a multi-year technology assessment and refresh program to upgrade and centralize the firm's technology infrastructure design and implement a matter-centric document management system and implement a disaster recovery strategy for a New York-based AmLaw 50 firm. Provided client relationship management; program planning design and implementation guidance; oversight of technical staff; administration of sub-contracted service providers and product vendors; and program status and financial reports to firm management.
Led turn-around of electronic billing system implementation for the Office of General Counsel of Fortune 10 pharmaceutical firm including re-establishing project goals and milestones; re-designing workflows implementation processes and performance metrics; and negotiating compliance with firm management at 250 domestic and international law firms.
Directed the reorganization of the IT and Litigation Support departments for a AmLaw 75 firm including assessing technical and professional staff; revising organizational structure; defining positions and reporting relationships; and introducing process improvements and criteria for departmental evolution based on Capabilities Maturity Models.
Managed design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity solutions for the Office of General Counsel at a London-based international manufacturer.
Directed reorganization of the IT and Litigation Support departments of a Washington DC-based AmLaw 25 firm. Reviewed strategic initiatives; evaluated management team performance; recommended staff reductions; redesigned department structures; implemented a Project Management Office and project management standards; managed the Development and Client Services departments; and briefed firm management and Technology Committee.
