Mark provides a wealth of experience in financing, building and operating technology and communications companies in the U.S. and abroad. After five years practicing commercial and securities law, he joined McCaw Cellular (now AT&T Wireless) in 1984.
He had a leadership role in the acquisition and financing activities of McCaw in the cellular industry and the representation of the Company in policy matters before the U.S. Congress, Executive Branch and the Federal Communications Commission. Mark held a variety of executive positions, including EVP and General Counsel during McCaw's initial public offering in 1987 and EVP-Government Affairs during its takeover of LIN Broadcasting and acquisition by AT&T.
In 1994 he assumed responsibility for AT&T's wireless development and operations outside the U.S. While he was President-International he served as Director and Deputy Chairman of SmarTone Ltd., a publicly listed Hong Kong Company, and as a director of , among others, Far EasTone Telecommunications (Taiwan) and Birla Communications, Ltd. (India). He also served as Vice-Chairman and Director of Monet Mobile Networks in the U.S.
Most recently, he was a founder and Chairman of New Century Globalnet, a broadband service provider in Japan. Mark is a graduate of the University of Washington and the Harvard Law School. |
