Mr. Mark Norris is a well known Alberta businessman with extensive experience in both the private sector and government. He recently was a candidate for the leadership of the Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta and served as President of GLG Consulting Ltd. a political and public policy think tank. Mr. Norris joined the Wescorp Energy Board of Directors in March 2007.
Prior to establishing GLG Consulting Mr. Norris served as an Alberta MLA holding the position of Alberta Minister of Economic Development from 2001 to 2004. During his tenure he initiated numerous new programs to foster the province’s economic growth including the establishment of four new international trade offices and five new regional economic development alliances in the province. Preceding his political career Mr. Norris operated a number of private sector businesses including Bench Advertisers Ltd. and Sunflower Gallery.
Mr. Norris holds Bachelor of Arts (Major in Political Science) from St. Francis Xavier University.
