Mark L. Pacala has served on the CareGuide Board of Directors since February 2002. Mr. Pacala has over 20 years of operational and general management experience in services, technology and healthcare companies. Since 2002, Mr. Pacala has served as a Venture Partner of Essex Woodlands Health Ventures and manages investments in and/or sits on the Board of Directors of Active Services, Amerifit Nutrition, BENU, HealthHelp and Key Health. Additionally, he monitors and oversees American WholeHealth, Notify MD, and Health Grades. Prior to joining Essex Woodlands, Mr. Pacala served as the CEO of American WholeHealth, an integrative health network company which combines conventional medicine, alternative medicine, nutrition and wellness. Prior to that, he served as the CEO of Forum Group, a senior housing and healthcare company, which later was sold to Marriott. From 1989 to 1994, Mr. Pacala was the Senior Vice President and General Manager at Walt Disney Company, where he founded the Disney Vacation Club. From 1984 - 1989, he served as Director of Corporate Planning and Vice President of Operations at Marriott Corporation, where he founded the Fairfield Inns division. He began his career as a banker in 1977 at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. and transitioned to strategic planning in healthcare at Booz, Allen and Hamilton. Mr. Pacala holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College where he graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School, where he graduated with distinction. |
