Mark J. Stasa is a Member of Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC and co-chairperson of firm's estate planning practice group. He is also a member of the firm's health care and corporate practice groups. Mr. Stasa holds a Certificate of Completion in the areas of probate and estate planning issued by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan. Mr. Stasa is involved with individuals and corporate clients in a variety of settings. In the estate setting, Mr. Stasa's practice includes the creation of wills, trusts, family limited partnerships, family LLCs, gifting, asset protection planning and insurance and retirement planning. Mr. Stasa's representation in this area ranges from the $1 million estate plan to representation of multi-generational high net worth family situations.
Mr. Stasa has worked extensively with families in private foundation settings along with numerous trade associations and nonprofit organizations. Mr. Stasa has been instrumental in establishing closely held foundations and advising various industry trade associations. Mr. Stasa's involvement with trade associations includes the use of industry promotional funds, labor negotiations and the establishment of ventures between associations.
Mr. Stasa's experience in the firm's health care group includes representation of individual physicians, multi-specialty practice groups, hospital representation, joint venture representation along with advice on tax, asset protection, contract and regulatory issues. Mr. Stasa is a frequent speaker to various hospital groups, physician trade associations and medical residents in the above areas.
Mr. Stasa is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Detroit and American Bar Association, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accounts and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the Association of Small Foundations, Michigan Health Care Section, Knights of Columbus, Ladywood High School Dad's Club, and Drum Corps International, Board of Directors.
Mr. Stasa is a 1986 graduate of the Wayne State University Law School. Mr. Stasa earned his Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Detroit in 1980. |
