Mark has built two companies from scratch into significant entities and sold his interest in both of them. For the last 13 years Mark was Chairman CEO and co-founder of Platinum Capital Group a mortgage banker headquartered in Irvine California with offices around the U.S. Platinum Capital grew under Mark’s leadership from 2 people to a national lender with residential loan volume in 2005 of 1.6 billion dollars and 350 employees.
Prior to establishing Platinum Capital Group Mark was Founder and President of Student Painters which he started in 1988. Before selling the company in 1992 the business grew to 250 branches and over 3000 employees.
Mark was born and raised in Canada moving to the United States in 1988. He is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University and has continued his professional growth through the Young Entrepreneurs Organization (YEO) Young Presidents Organization (YPO) The Executive Committee (TEC) and the Birthing of Giants program. In 1998 Mark received the Ernst & Young-sponsored Entrepreneur of the Year award and Platinum Capital ranked #10 on the INC 500 list of fastest growing companies in America. Platinum also ranked #1 on the list of fastest growing companies in Los Angeles. Mark has served on the Board of Directors of the Southern California Entrepreneurship Academy and the Board of Governors of Chapman University. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of the Children’s Hospital of Orange County and Chairman of the California Southwest Chapter of YPO.
Mark lives in Newport Beach California with his wife Ivette and two children Darien (7) and Mason (6). He enjoys competing in triathlons and completed the Ironman in 2006. In 1992 Mark won the U.S. National Squash Championships. Mark is also fluent in Spanish. |
