Mark D. Tolman is a member of the Jones Waldo litigation group. Mark’s practice focuses on employment and commercial litigation. Mark’s employment practice includes the representation of employers in matters before state and federal courts, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Utah Antidiscrimination and Labor Division. Mark also works with employers to help them develop preventative employment practices and policies, such as supervisor and employee training, policy and handbook reviews, day-to-day counseling on employee problems, and investigations. Mark’s commercial litigation practice also spans a variety of practice areas. He has litigated cases involving complex factual and legal matters including covenants not to compete or solicit, trade secrets, false advertising, defamation, and securities fraud. Prior to joining Jones Waldo, Mark was a commercial litigation associate at Kilpatrick Stockton LLP in its Winston-Salem, North Carolina office. Mark is a Bountiful, Utah native. His undergraduate work was completed in 2001 at Weber State University where he graduated summa cum laude in Economics. Mark attended law school at the University of North Carolina School of Law where he graduated with honors in 2004. While in law school, Mark was appointed President of the Trial Law Academy. Additionally, Mark represented Carolina Law as a member of its National Trial Team and Moot Court Bench. Mark is admitted to the practice of law in both Utah and North Carolina. |
