Mark D. Lerdal brings more than 20 years of experience, including a strong background in the energy sector to his position as Member of KKR Financial LLC. His role will be to manage the distressed and pre- and post- bankruptcy investment strategy of KFL.
Prior to joining KFL in September 2006, he served as President of KC Holdings, Inc., a developer of energy projects. While operating KC Holdings, Inc., Mark also consulted to ValueAct Capital Partners, L.P., a small cap value fund where he sourced and evaluated investments in the energy industry. Previously, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Kenetech Corporation, a San Francisco-based company specializing in the financing and management of independent electric power projects, which at its peak generated revenue of more than $500 million. In addition, while at Kenetech, he served as Vice President and General Counsel, and also as counsel and developer for one of its finance subsidiaries in the early 90s. Mark began his career as an Attorney at the law firm of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, working in the corporate and securities department, and handling public offerings, venture capital transactions, merger and asset acquisitions, licensing, and joint ventures.
Mark graduated from Stanford University with a BA in Economics and holds a JD Cum Laude from Northwestern University School of Law. |
