Mark Fairchild currently serves as Senior Vice President of Technology and Portfolio Management for
BancTec, Inc. and is a member of the Executive Leadership Team reporting directly to the Chief
Executive Officer, J. Coley Clark. The Technology Portfolio Management organization consists of Product
Management, Research and Development, Customer Service, Manufacturing and Plant Operations, and
Supply Chain Management. In support of the BancTec strategy to cultivate repeatable solutions and
recurring revenue, Fairchild’s Portfolio Management organization is responsible for providing full life-cycle
management of the company’s product portfolios, leveraging local innovation to deliver global solutions.
From product conception through development, distribution and support, Portfolio Management is
focused on leveraging BancTec capabilities across the company to provide a complete suite of products
and services.
Fairchild joined BancTec in 1989 as the Director of Engineering. While in this role, he led the research
and development team that successfully introduced a new high-speed digital image processing system
that formed the base for the BancTec ImageFIRST product portfolio. Fairchild progressed through a
variety of management roles, including UK Systems Director, International Systems Director, Vice
President of Systems Marketing and Vice President, European Operations. Later promoted to Senior
Vice President, International Operations, Fairchild was instrumental in the introduction of the eFIRST
product portfolio to establish an electronic document management (EDM) line of business aimed at
positioning BancTec in an emerging high-growth market. With demonstrated success in the international
market, Fairchild was promoted to Senior Vice President, Worldwide Operations where he gained the
added responsibility for U.S. operations and was later promoted to Senior Vice President of the Global
Products and Operations group in 2004.
Fairchild holds a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering with honors from Manchester University
and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the London Business School. |
