Mr. Wallace is president and CEO of Texas Children's Hospital, one of the largest children's hospitals in the country, treating more than 1.2 million children annually. He is a recipient of the American College of Healthcare Executives' Robert S. Hudgens Memorial Award as the 1992 Young Healthcare Executive of the Year. He has served as president of the Children's Hospital Association of Texas and chairman of the board of trustees of the Texas Hospital Association. He is a past chairman of the board of directors of the Greater Houston Hospital Council. He currently serves as a trustee of the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions. Mr. Wallace is a past board member of the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter of the March of Dimes Foundation and served as chairman of the March of Dimes WalkAmerica Campaign in Houston. He is a past director of the Houston Zoological Society and the Sam Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He has served on the board of governors of the Houston Forum and as Corporate Walk Chairman of the Walk to Cure Diabetes. Mr. Wallace received his bachelor's degree from Oklahoma Baptist University. He is a recipient of the Profile in Excellence and the Alumni Achievement awards from the university. He received his master's degree from Washington University. |
