Marjorie W. Dorr is executive vice president and chief strategy officer for WellPoint, Inc. She is responsible for ensuring that the transformational goals of the company's 2010 plan are realized. She previously served as president and CEO of the Northeast Region SBU for WellPoint, Inc., responsible for operations in Connecticut, New Hampshire and Maine. When Anthem, Inc. merged with WellPoint Health Networks Inc. in November 2004 and was subsequently renamed WellPoint, Inc., Ms. Dorr was serving as president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield's East region, responsible for operations in Connecticut, Maine and New Hampshire.
Ms. Dorr joined Anthem in 1991 as vice president of Corporate Finance and was later appointed chief financial officer of Anthem Casualty Insurance Group. Ms. Dorr was chief executive officer, president and director of Anthem Prescription Management from 1995 to 1998 where she was responsible for leading Anthem's $500 million pharmacy benefit programs. She later served as chief operating officer of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield's Connecticut operation.
Prior to joining Anthem, Ms. Dorr was vice president at Houlihan, Lokey, Howard & Zukin, Inc., in San Francisco, California. She previously was with the Algemene Bank Nederland, N.V. in Chicago, and The Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C.
A graduate of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Program, Ms. Dorr is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization, The Committee of 200 and the CEO Forum. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New England Healthcare Institute and Lead Like Jesus.
Ms. Dorr has been a featured presenter for many professional organizations including AchieveGlobal, the California CPA Foundation, the American Management Association, the Business Valuation Association and the Managed Health Care Industry Forum.
Ms. Dorr received her bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Iowa, and her master of business administration degree from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. |
