Marisa's real property litigation practice includes representation of individuals and businesses regarding condemnation, relocation, contract and construction disputes, restrictive covenants, land use and zoning issues, boundary disputes, and landlord-tenant issues. She also counsels and represents financial institutions and financial services companies in connection with commercial collection actions and lenders' rights litigation. She has practiced in state and federal courts, and before government agencies. Marisa has published articles on condemnation and lectured on real property rights. She has acted as condemnation counsel for property owners in major cases such as the successful trial involving Pier 27 in Seattle's industrial Harbor ($2.2 million), as well as settlements involving substantial properties ($2.6 million) and relocation ($1,655,000). She has also acted as condemnation counsel for condemnors such as Sound Transit and the City of Federal Way in acquiring property for commuter rail stations and significant road improvements projects.
